My boy Dan Wallace did a beautiful drawing in salt for the first opening, here's a photo and review. At the moment Zack and I are working with two other artists installing a floating topology in an outdoor courtyard for a residency at the PSU architecture department for the end of September.
Most exciting for myself, I was asked to help curate a show on space, place, and environment in December by a curator in town. Those three concepts define the core of what my work and curation has revolved around, so I'm stoked to get to play in a new location, and stoked that the work I've been putting out has resonated with similar minds. I'm trying to brainstorm novel ways of addressing the topic, and am thinking of working with Dan Wallace and Claire Staples, as both moved to a new cities recently, and both work with perception/rhythms/signifiers. I'm thinking about intercontinental folding of rhythms of place and digital melding of locations, among other things. Who knows. If anyone has any ideas feel free.

my only comment right now would be to research what has been done in music already. i can't quite think of a better way to say that.
what i mean is, these ideas with frequencies and resonance being used to create imagery, or translation of sound wave into some visible format might have already been explored and documented in an archive traditionally associated with (experimental) music. to keep the piece from rehashing an old idea (as new as it may be to the audience or visual arts in general), try researching how it has been explored by musicians so that you can take it further from that point.
i don't have any names in front of me, but rod could probably help you out.

paik did a lot of great stuff involving early global satellite communication-global groove is on youtube. there's an absolutely beautiful video piece from documenta 6 - where the first live via-satellite arts broadcast was given in '77 by nam june paik (for asia) beuys (europe) and doug davis (us). definitely worth seeing if you get the opportunity.
most of 'em seem to be more about tv specifically as a global medium but one that can contain art/entertainment/music and their combinations. pre-internet but maybe some similar implications..

there's a lot of interesting stuff with global collapse of space via ikea-style interiors, ad-speak, constant communication...
