elizabeth, do you think you might be able to offer some explanation of these pieces? i'm really into what i see in the power plant post, but i'd love to know some more about your process/ method, and i agree with alex that some short clips would be pretty cool too....

i will upload some clips- the footage is pretty shoddy though and doesn't give you a great sense of the environment.
power plant project was pulled together pretty last minute. i was thinking about how bodies could alter a space by becoming extensions of structural forms/ other aspects of an environment.
the high st. plant is a very enclosed and transported environment, that feels to me to have its own sense of locamotive time. There are certain elements there that I see as beggin for extension.
The whole place is pulsing. but there is no true movement. but the place beckons movement... i think.
I am not finished on this project yet, this was just a first attempt, but ideally the space will become like a wind up city, where bodies in the space make explicit the musicality/ weight/ precarious elements of the site.
and a lot of whimsy too.... which i am struggling with a bit. in terms of how much to allow...
i can give more details about what specific people are doing, but perhaps ill just upload videos soon and let them speak for themselves. its a shame that marks movement in the begging isnt visible on film.
he is doing the paint bucket movement that there is a clip of me doing in this post.
that was a just a small thing i was working on. done very slowly. very much about the material and how it is reconextualized...the transformative nature of "the glove."
the last thing with honey was from a series of small works i did using honey which included this video of my sister licking up slowly dripping "tears". its a joke. sort of.
happy to hear any feedback-- im still figuring a lot of stuff out.
