This is a study in space/perspective/drawing I installed this past month. The structure is wood covered in drawn graphite. The piece has numerous anamorphic points of view, so that your relationship to the structure rotates as you move through it--hint, the built door is a rotation of the original door, and the drawn beams measure up to the room dimensions-- It's an attempt to materialize some of my recent drawing explorations, seen below (i have problems with photography as you see). These are primarily concerned with developing a mark-making that fluctuates between urban and natural while layering perspectival cues, hopefully allowing non-planned spaces to evolve over the development of each drawing, and markmaking/structural/formal strategies over series of drawings. ____josh
